| About me... My name is Melissa and I am a stay at home mother of 2 girls ages 5 and 8. I've been married to my husband, Chris, for 13 years. My family and I moved to Vermont 7 years ago from Connecticut. Throughout my life, I've worked with children in some way. As a teenager I was the neighborhood babysitter, after high school I worked for The Baby Cottage in Stamford, CT and attended Norwalk Community College part-time, where I majored in Early Childhood Education. When we moved to Vermont and started looking for day care for our first daughter, we were not happy with what we found. After a lot of searching, we did finally find someone, but then after about a year, the provider decided to go back to school and give up her day care. So, we were forced to look again for child care, and again we had problems finding someone we trusted. So, when our second daughter was born, I decided to stay home. I thought a lot about starting my own day care business, so I did, I became registered with the state in September of 2007, it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. |
